The apartment is amazing: stylish, interesting, artistic, and authentic. We really liked it. But there is one weird thing. There is a washing machine, but you have to buy your own laundry detergent. This is odd when you're staying for just 3 days. And then, when leaving, you have to buy your own trash bags to dispose of the trash. So, essentially, our one load of laundry and one trash bag would have cost the apartment owner no more than 2 euros, but for us, it ended up being a big hassle to go out and buy these things. And I wonder, do they take these items back so that new tenants have to buy them again? Anyway, we didn't like this part, but everything else was great.

Entering this beautiful vintage apartment was like going back to another century! I strongly recommend this place for people who appreciate old style apartments but also for people who'd like to try different type of experience on Airbnb. The apartment was clean and it fulfilled our expectation. Yes, it has it's own style and comfort but that's the beauty of a vintage apartment with a soul. The place is close to Syntagma, Plaka, Parthenon and good restaurants (Taverna Saita is a good nearby choice). Honest recommendation!

We loved staying here. It was like going back in time, plenty of seating for everyone and the elevator came in very handy for my bad knee. However, you do have to go up one flight of stairs. We did have an issue with the toilet leaking clean water but JJ was proactive. We only stayed 2 nights. Just a couple blocks away is a wonderful restaurant Ziata Taberna and tons of shopping. From the bedroom near the kitchen you have an excellent view of the Acropolis through the window also on the fire escape in the kitchen. There's only one small couch. But we all spent most of our time in the kitchen playing games at night. Excellent place to stay for a great price.

Plus que vintage, le logement est ancien et a un côté veilli. Les literies sont anciennes donc prudence pour les personnes avec un mal de dos. Nous avons terriblement dormi car il faut savoir que les fenêtres des chambres sont très mal isolées et donnent directement sur la cour intérieure d'un hôtel 1 étoile quin acceuille des fêtards toute la nuit (semaine et weekend). Les 3 nuits passées nous avons été réveillés dès 3h30 du matin jusque 7h par ces fêtards. L'emplacement est idéal près de tous les sites à visiter et restaurants. Attention cependant aux personnes allergiques car les meubles sont imprégnés d'odeur de cigarette. Les toilettes séparés avaient une fuite d'eau et la salle de bain/douche n'était pas très hygiénique du fait des tâches de moisissures et de peinture qui s'écaille. Dommage car Athènes est une ville exceptionnelle!

The apartment is huge, plenty of room to spead out, it's major strength is its great location, turn one way and you in the predestination area of Athens with all the shops and ancient sites within a 5 min walk, turn another way and you are seconds away to get a taxi to wherever you need, great restaurants close by. it's spot on. The hosts were extremely helpful and very quick to respond. Helping with taxi transfers and recommendations. True professionals. The only downside to the apartment is also part of its charm. Yes it's VINTAGE, which is why we choose it but it is in desperate need of some minor modifications to be comfortable for guests. The bathroom needs some serious attention, it's probably the worst shower I've seen in years. The bedrooms are fine but the matresses are not comfortable. The sitting room is not comfortable and the TV is in the dining room (not that watched any TV) Overall the apartment is great but it looks like it had its best moments a few years ago.

We loved this place! It's a great value for the number of beds and the location. You can see the acropolis from the back fire escape. The host's instructions for check in and check out were clear. The linens and towels were white, crisp, and clean. There were two bathrooms. The A/C actually worked, unlike several places we stayed in Greece. There's a cute placer around the corner (Salt or Sugar) with fantastic Greek pastries, coffee, fresh-squeezed orange juice, & alcohol. There are two balconies you can enjoy off of the living room and dining room. The elevator is adorable and makes moving luggage very convenient. It may not be the best fit for people with severe indoor allergies, as the vintage furnishings are a little dusty (unavoidable with antiques!). There are some quirks, but it's clean and charming! 100% would stay again.

This place was great value for money a spacious apartment full of character. The only downside was the very noisy neighbors in the hours between 9.30 and 11.30 pm and again at 6.30 am. Otherwise very quiet location.

Great location. Very spacious and cool old apartment, like staying at your grandparents if they were intellectual Athenians in 1930 who didn’t keep their apartment up. Do not stay here if you want to cook. Minimal kitchen supplies. Cupboards full of useless stuff but no toaster, no cooking oil, no coffee, no hand soap, had to repeatedly ask for garbage bags, only one dish towel. Other stuff worked great washer, fridge, toilet. Shower is pretty bad. That said it’s close to lots of stuff. Plus the elevator opens right into the apartment which was like an old movie. Beds good. Office woman Lina was very helpful but owner John took days to respond.

We mention that this is an old apt and thus its name 'plaka vintage' and the amenities are dated, it is also self catering and not a serviced apartment, hence its price. Positive: The common areas feature very elegant decorative elements and are really spacious. The beds are pretty good and the bedrooms are all air conditioned. We enjoyed the ample drawer and cupboard space. Also, the location can't be beat, for tourism purposes Negative: The apartment could use some maintenance in the kitchen and the window and door frames. The kitchen has many basics but a few more pans and utensils might come in handy. The linens didn't all fit the bed well and there were no extra pillows, small things that could be easily fixed.

JJ's place was absolutely fascinating. My son and daughter (teens) were both quite enchanted by the library. It's literally a stone throw from the acropolis and other sights. Easy to access town. The view from the balcony is stunning. Even though the apartment is located quite close to a major city artery it was quiet at night. Well worth the money. Something to note is that there's a flight of steps leading up to a small elevator. with 5 people and luggage we had to go up and down quite a few times to get everything up. Not completely suited if you're elderly on your own for instance. Similarly the shower was in the bath (you can see on the photos) which was a bit more difficult for my mother and as stated in one of the other reviews, truly vintage as well, not completely what we're used to nowadays. Not a problem though if you expect it. All in all it was a great stay I could certainly recommend it to anyone.

Throughout the process I had a ton of questions, and even made an error when trying to get in (all me- I lost the email). Anyway, the communication was fantastic, and Jj also helped me with a place to store my bags prior to check in and transportation to the airport. This is a good one!!!

O apartamento é exatamente como anunciado. Vintage, super bem localizado, muito espaçoso, com muita alma e carácter. Não parece um apartamento de férias, mas sim estarmos na casa de alguém no final dos anos 60, início de 70. Destaco os lençóis e toalhas novos, imaculados e super confortáveis. Obrigada por isso Jj. Depois de um dia inteiro a andar e com calor era ótimo poder ir descansar na varanda da sala à noite.

Man får lyst til å vite mer om dem som har bodd der før :) Heis rett opp i leiligheten. Nye, gode senger. Badene er av eldre dato, men fungerer bra. Greit utstyrt kjøkken, romslig kjøleskap. Gangavstand til blant annet Akropolis, Syntagma, Botanisk hage og alle fasiliteter i Plaka. Sjarmerende nabolag med koselig café på et vakkert torg bare ett minutts spasertur unna. Hit kommer vi gjerne igjen, og kan virkelig anbefale dette bostedet!

What a wonderful apartment! Exactly as described, bigger than expected and comfortable. The apartment itself is an adventure. It was clean. All three bedrooms are bright, comfortable, good beds and have AC. The salons are great and interesting without AC. The home is in the center. The national park is across the street. Usually, it’s very quiet in the house. There is a lift to the 2-nd floor but you'll need to go up 10-15 stairs to access it. The stairs are a little slippery. For our little child it was a real challenge to go down and to exit the elevator. No problem leaving the baby carriage in the lobby of the building. The shower and the kitchen are in adequate condition but not ideal. No heating in the bathroom, the shower stream was very good. I would add some kitchen aids for those who likes to cook cook even a simple meal. All the functionality of the apartment are vintage, so expect some noise from the carpet and from the doors. A great place to stay!

Location, location, location! This vintage apartment is just steps away from wonderful restaurants and shops and all of the wonderful sites to see in Athens. Be sure to enjoy your morning coffee from the local walk up coffee shop just steps away from the apartment - the homemade baklava is the delish too! The hosts were extremely responsive prior to our arrival as well as during the stay. We greatly appreciated the ability to store our luggage when we arrived early so we could explore the city and not have to drag it around. I agree with all of the other reviews but have a few things to note that weren't shared by others: - The building across the street is under contraction currently which makes use of the balcony during the week a bit noisy. No problem if you are out and about all day sightseeing - but think it is good to share just in case you envision a quiet morning on the balcony with your book. - There is a lift to get you to the second floor but you'll need to go up several steps to access it - we were traveling with an older friend and needed to help her drag her luggage up the stairs. She would have had problems had she been traveling alone. - The shower situation is adequate but not ideal. Just know that vintage means all of the functionality of the apartment and not just the decor. - There is a coffee pot and washer but you'll need to bring your own coffee and laundry soap. Overall, it was a great place to stay - a wonderful value in a fantastic location!

Traumatic Experience. If you like to spend your night in a cemetery, this is your place.
Positive: The apartment is complete, no device missing if you don't mind the age of the kitchen utensils. We didn't want to use the kitchen. The bathroom is old but functional, would have been no show stopper for us. Some paintings are nice. Negative: We generally like "vintage", unless we wouldn't have tried this place. However, we have fled the place after one night and booked a new apartment at our own cost. The host rejected to book us to another apartment he manages or help us in any way (in low season!), customer satisfaction is not a thing. We had to pay all the booked days also after giving back the keys. This place has seen great times, but this time is long ago and now it is is a scary reflection of itself. It smells so ancient that you will wonder what you will dream at night. We slept awfully. Curtains have not been washed for a decade and express best the general experience. Old carpets and smelly sofas - even with window open - we felt slightly disgusted to sit on them with fresh clothes. For family holidays absolutely not recommendable, unless you are Adam's family. If you sit at one of the (once lovely) balconies with marble (!) flooring you see the full front of a broken office building inhabited by some street bums. Dystopic. Side note: our car window was broken in the neighbouring street during the night, no joke, take this as a side info to grasp the area. One block into the right direction towards Plaka and you feel like on a different planet. In this street, I would not send our grown up daughter alone to buy some pizza.

L’emplacement est idéal pour un touriste :parfaitement au calme tout en étant à deux pas de l’acropole Negative: On aimerait en savoir plus sur les anciens habitants de cet appartement, quel métier exerçaient ils, quel milieu fréquentaient ils, qui a peint leur beau double portrait ? Pouvoir fermer à clés l’appartement serait aussi rassurant

Positive: Die Lage war sehr gut. Die Innenstadt, Acropolis, allgemein das Zentrum war locker zu Fuß erreichbar. 10 min bis zur Innenstadt und 5 min bis Acropolis. Die Wohnung war nett eingerichtet. Sehr zufrieden. Negative: No comment

Easy check in and out. Very responsive host. Incredibly well situated and we really loved the vintage touch bringing the personal charm to the place. It makes you wonder about the original owner and their lives. So close to the acropolis and Plaka. Also to walking distance to Syntagma square where the metro and bus to airport can be taken.

Un'autentica casa ateniese di gran fascino, mantenuta come l'ha lasciata il nonno.
E' un'ampia e piacevole dimora completa di tutti gli arredi originali della metà del secolo scorso, curata e molto ben tenuta dagli attuali proprietari, nipoti del primo proprietario. A voi scoprire il fascino e la personalità di chi ha occupato e arredato questo immobile nel corso degli anni. Se non vi piace lo stile anonimo e standardizzato degli appartamenti per turisti arredati Ikea, questa casa fa per voi. I proprietari sono molto cortesi e disponibili.

Old style apartment. It has its own charm. 3 bedrooms wit only one bath. The building itself need some renovation inside and outside. Good position.

Es un apartamento muy grande y muy bien situado. Las habitaciones acogedoras con AA, cocina equipada, un baño y un servicio (ademas de varios salones). La decoracion muy curiosa, llama la atencion.
