L’emplacement est unique et les espaces extérieurs sont parfaits et conformes aux photos. Très beaux objets également et la maison respire l’histoire. En revanche l’annonce ne montre pas que l’intérieur est sombre et exigu. L’accès aux deux master bedrooms se faisait par la cuisine (la porte reliant celle de l’étage au salon étant close). Les fenêtres sont petites et équipées de barreau ou grillages métalliques pour des raisons de sécurité. Nous ne sommes pas parvenus à ouvrir le grillage métallique de la cuisine et les volets de l’unique fenêtre de la cuisine. Compte tenu de la canicule nous n’avons pas pu profiter en famille des espaces extérieurs et avons donc quitté la maison après une nuit (sur 3 nuits réservée).

Positives first: Fantastic location. Rich historical experience. But. Everything is kind of as promised on the app. But this is a ‘true’ Airbnb experience. You are staying in somebody’s home. You get the feeling that they reluctantly moved out for the summer to make a quick buck and then moved back in right after the last tourist left. After a 45 minute tour of the house, listening to the remarkable history of of the house and its surroundings, we were finally ready to move in. No AC’s running, it took a while for the house to become comfortable enough to live in. Tiny bedrooms and only three out of four bedrooms had AC. Expect quirky things like having to enter the main downstairs bedroom from the kitchen through the bathroom. And you have to duck to prevent painful bumps on your head. It is a historical house after all. Also a very laborious system of locking up when leaving and unlocking when returning. Will probably not return.

Please don’t hesitate to book this beautiful AirBnB, it’s a gorgeous home in the perfect position for seeing the best of Athens. The house is full of beautiful and interesting touches, but also perfectly equipped for everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beds are super comfy and the view from the rooftop is perfect for a glass of wine at the end of the day to watch the sun set. Most importantly, the owners are absolutely lovely and couldn’t have been more helpful and friendly. Fully recommended, I only wish we could have stayed longer

Amazing historic home in walkable Plaka. Kind Nikos was so helpful in showing us around the house and he recommended great places to eat. Comfortable beds and fully equipped kitchen and bathrooms. Clean and complete with washer and dryer! Best of all: Loved the location and proximity to acropolis! Minor notes but important: Outside patio furniture was sadly unusable and in disrepair. Many windows and doors blocked leaving little natural light. Cool rooftop but accessible by metal spiral staircase not for elderly or perhaps toddlers. House is historic and amazing but as such, this not a house for tall people or too many suitcases — our family had four and kept three suitcases in kitchen and foyer since they couldn’t make it into two of the 3 bedrooms. Again amazing house but taller guests beware: many tight spaces and low ceilings to navigate.

The residence was amazing! The location was perfect - literally adjacent to the Acropolis and a short walk to great shopping and dining in the Plaka. We were only staying for one night and wish we had the chance to take full advantage of the amazing residence (e.g., rooftop terrace, great kitchen, etc.). We would definitely come back.

Plaka is the place to be and everything about the location exceeded our expectations. You are part of the history in this home and still have modern conveniences. Great for my family of 6. Plenty of room. JJ was super accommodating and his perfect English made communication super easy.

Unfassbar wunderschönes sauberes Haus direkt zentral neben der Akropolis gelegen (und trotzdem ruhig). Es ist ein Glücksfund mit einem sehr netten Besitzer der uns viele Tipps für die Gehend geben konnte. Wenn man zentral in Athen übernachten möchte ist das der Ort dafür. Die Zimmer, das Bad und die Küche waren alle Blitzsauber und es fehlt an nichts. Der Garten ist eine Oase, unfassbar das so etwas direkt in der Stadt liegt. Wir kommen sehr gerne wieder!

Absolutely amazing home in the heart of Plaka, literally at the foot of Acropolis. Everything was within 10 mins of walk. Lot if history in the house including things of archeological significance in the home one of the bedroom wall is a part of Acropolis structure. It's a very old house, but very well equipped and stocked. We found everything we needed for our large group 5 days stay. Highly recommended.

Exactly as described! We stayed with our 4 children and the home felt very safe and accommodated us very well. It is steps from the Acropolis and all of the surrounding restaurants and shops. Nikolas met us at the home and spent time walking us through the home and answering questions about the area and things to do. He was very responsive with any questions I had over text. Really great experience.

This is really a remarkable house, full of character and history which the owners have taken pride in preserving. Its courtyard is truly beautiful and a sanctuary right in the midst of one of the most vibrant parts of Athens. The location is great for close proximity to restaurants, shops, many areas of interest and of course the Acropolis. Walking access to the house does involve a fair number of steps, and many parts of the house and courtyard are also accessed by steps (some of them tricky) - so guests with limited mobility should be aware. Those with more agility will enjoy all the various spaces this house provides, including some pretty extraordinary 360 views from the roof deck! Before and throughout our stay we had great communication with the host, who was friendly and helpful and able to provide personal recommendations. We feel very privileged to have been able to stay somewhere so unique and experience Athens in this way.

Positive: The history of the building itself. It's like a museum. Negative: For me it was all great. If you have any major issues with mobility some of the rooms may pose a possible challenge. We had a few older travelers with us, but for them it was well worth the experience.

Acropolis Villa
Wonderful location, quaint yet sprawling, close to most everything and with excellent views both of the Acropolis (can't get much closer) or for just sitting in the garden with a cup of coffee. There are tree different sitting areas in the garden, all mostly shaded or covered, but open and welcoming of the fresh air breeze. The history, decor and well maintained property is a must stay for those wanting to experience Athens as a local. Loustinos was an excellent host, his help as a local reference for unique and excellent restaurants and answering any last minute questions was prompt and thorough. We traveled as a group of 5 and had a great time together and could easily find space away in a beautiful place in the house or garden if we wanted to get away. When traveling to Greece, we would return to the Acropolis Villa in a minute.

Elegant Home at Footsteps of the Parthenon
This charming home is tastefully furnished, nicer than any hotel in the city, in a quiet, private upscale neighborhood, yet just 2 blocks from both the restaurants/shops of the Plaka, and the entrance to the Parthenon. All the amenities you would expect (washer/dryer, satellite tv, quiet A/C, etc.), a quaint courtyard to have breakfast or relax in style in the Den or Dining room and have a late afternoon drink, a perfect Oasis from the heat of the city. The owner was gracious and attentive, I would stay here again. Great if you want to relax in style, and have need for 2-4 bedrooms. Really quite a good value compared to the other upmarket hotels.
